After I got done posting about Remy and Nemo last night, I picked Remy up to put him back in the basement for the night. I started walking across the room and something very sharp poked me in the arm. Now, he was relaxed and purring, and hadn't really moved, so I knew it wasn't intentional. I figured he must have a rose thorn caught in his chest hairs, like Bailey gets so often. So I had Andrew help me hold him down while I untangled him. Not that we really needed it, he just kinda laid there. But imagine my surprise when I find, not a rose thorn, but this thing.

The black part was in him, the white is what poked me. That's right, part of a porcupine quill. So he got a good searching-over to see if that was all, and besides the little lump that went down right after we took the quill out, there was no sign of anything abnormal. We'll have to keep an eye on that lump, but I imagine he'll be just fine.
